With the holidays around the corner, you may already be thinking of running some fun campaigns and contests to boost engagement with fans and increase views and subscriptions. And the first thing you’ll want to do is check if your profile is looking good and ready to make the most of it.

Pornhub blog has a lot to offer when it comes to tips for new models, whether it’s couples or solo performers. In this article, however, we want to talk about what might be hindering your profile growth, or in other words, how you can improve or tweak things that you currently do to get better results. So without further ado, let’s get started!
1. Focus on quality, not quantity
We see many amateur models uploading a new video every day in the same position that’s maybe 2 to 4 minutes long with the same thumbnail, same lightning, similar facial expressions, etc. While it's great to have a ton of content, it’s not an ideal way to stand out and grow your profile. After going through the top 100 models on Pornhub, one pattern we’ve noticed is that most of them upload one or two high-quality videos a week.
A successful performer takes time to prepare the video, choose the best time of day to get the best lighting, ensure the setup looks good and natural, and the camera lens is clear and clean. It’s a lot of details to pay attention to.
Many of the videos that you’ll see on our profile or other top performers might look natural, but in reality, it takes some time to prepare a mini scenario and plan things so it looks flawless on the viewer’s end. The audience will always notice the quality, which will not only entice them to watch the whole thing, but also potentially encourage them to buy your content and subscribe to your Fan Club. So take the time to produce unique, high-quality content.
2. Interact with your audience
During the first months of our PH journey, we pretty much responded to every private message our fans sent us. We asked them for feedback, what excites them most, and so on. While doing this, we developed a handful of loyal viewers that were there online whenever we uploaded a new video. Most of them have subscribed to our Fan Club and have become long-term devoted fans.
Respond to your fans' comments under your videos. Have real conversations. The more real engagement, the more likely your videos will show up in the featured sections across the site.
3. Take time to properly use tags and categories
Proper tagging and categorization are not as obvious as it sounds. Pornhub allows for 8 categories to choose from and 16 tags to enter. Now, here’s the trick to squeeze the most out of them. Let’s say you title your video, “Perfect 18-year-old teen rides big cock and gets creampied (POV),” the categories we would check are as follows: babe, teen, creampie, big dick, POV, German (since we come from Germany), and amateur (since we are an amateur couple). That’s 8 categories.
That was the easy part, right? Now, some models insert tags similar to categories, which could decrease your exposure to other keywords. In this case, a no-go would be tagging your video with words that either already appear in your title or are extremely similar to your other tags, such as: perfect teen (since they already appear in the title and categories), big cock (a substitute for big dick), point of view (which is just an extension of POV), teen babe, and riding.
You want to add tags that match your video but are different than the words you have already use; like an descriptive extension of your title. In this specific case, we would include words such as: amateur girlfriend, 18 years old teen, passionate sex, morning sex, shaved pussy, close-up sex, blonde, homemade sex, big/small tits/boobs/breasts, big/small butt/ass, legs spread/closed, orgasm, innocent/rough sex, verified couple, dream girl.
Note that none of the words used in tags appear in the headline or categories. This way you can achieve exposure to more than 24 keywords (categories + tags) plus your title.
4. Thumbnail is key
That’s the holy grail of any Pornhub model’s career. If you are wondering what might be hindering your profile growth, we’d blindly say that there’s room for improvement with your thumbnails. Our profile started to receive a ton more views when we started doing the following.
We stopped using auto-generated thumbnails by Pornhub and took the time to do our own and carefully choose one we think would grasp the viewer's attention.
We also started doing mini photoshoot sessions while recording, since most phones and cameras have a take-a-picture button that you can press while recording. This trick will give you a bunch of high-quality photos of your scenes. Once you pick the photo you want to use for your thumbnail, use your phone’s default tools to adjust the brightness and contrast of these pictures. Make sure the details stand out. Then, pick the photo that has the best quality and entices viewers to click on it.
Pornhub requires you to upload a custom 640X360 px thumbnail, which is a pretty small size. You can lose a lot of quality if you resize the image the wrong way. What you wanna do is the following:
Use a program like Photoshop (its basic app is free on mobile) or free GIMP.
Create a new project with 640X360 px size.
Insert your image.
Adjust the image’s size while preventing its ratio (it’s important to keep all shapes real).
Now, save it as PNG to help preserve image quality.
When uploading your video, schedule it a few hours ahead of time. Once it’s rendered, upload your new thumbnail while it’s still unpublished. From there, it’s up to you when to publish.
5. Don’t spam in the comment section
This is a no-go way of promoting your profile. If you aggressively promote your content in comment sections, especially among the videos that are currently trending, it might have a reversed effect than what you were hoping for. This kind of behavior is discouraged, so if you want to grow your profile, instead of self-promotion in the comments, use this time to take a couple of sexy pictures, wrap them up into an album, post it on your profile, and let your social followers know you've uploaded a new album. You can even create special albums only for your fans.
Indeed, an album might take slightly more time to put together, however, if done right, it will go viral, unlike your comment that will fade into the depths of the comment universe in no time. You should also take a look at the features that are offered on Pornhub, like Fan Club subscriptions, custom videos, auto-tweets, coupons, and Viewers’ Choice, and use them to engage with fans and create incentives to promote on social media.
If you follow the steps above consistently, then more viewers will take notice of your profile page and videos, which could turn into Fan Club subscriptions and custom video requests. Take the time to play around with the different features available on Pornhub to really make the most of the tools available to you to boost views and grow your fan base. Honest work will always pay off, and remember this -- there are no shortcuts.
